Fist Bump Scores ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our mobile and web application ("the Service").

By using Fist Bump Scores, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree with these practices, please do not use our Service.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Name and display name

• Phone number (optional, only if you enable SMS notifications)
• Profile photo (optional)
• Handicap index (optional)

Golf & Game Data

We collect data you enter while using the Service, including:

• Golf scores, round details, and course information
• Side game results and settlement calculations
• League membership, standings, and tournament results
• Side game buy-ins, pot amounts, and calculated payouts (stored as calculation records only)

Financial Data

We use Stripe to process subscription payments. We do not store your credit card numbers, bank account information, or any sensitive payment credentials on our servers. Stripe processes and stores all payment data under their own PCI-compliant infrastructure. We retain subscription status, billing history, and transaction identifiers for your account.

Important: Side game buy-ins and prize fund amounts you enter in the app are stored solely as numerical calculation data. Fist Bump Scores does not collect, hold, transfer, or process any actual money associated with side games or tournaments.

Device & Usage Data

We automatically collect certain technical information, including:

• Device type and browser version
• IP address
• Pages visited and features used
• Crash reports and performance data

Location Data

If you grant permission, we may access your device's location to assist with course identification. Location data is used only in the moment and is not stored on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the Service (scoring, leagues, tournaments)
• Send notifications you've opted into (email, SMS, push)
• Process payments and subscriptions
• Provide customer support
• Analyze usage to improve features and performance
• Comply with legal obligations

SMS / Text Messaging

Fist Bump Scores offers optional SMS notifications. SMS is never enabled by default — you must explicitly opt in through our in-app consent flow.

Frequency & Costs

Approximately 2–8 messages per week depending on activity. Message and data rates may apply.

Opt-Out

You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, toggling SMS off in your profile settings, or removing your phone number. Reply HELP for assistance.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited cases:

• Service providers: We use trusted third-party services to operate the app (Firebase for hosting and database, Twilio for SMS delivery, Stripe for payment processing, Resend for email). These providers only access data necessary to perform their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.
• League and tournament participants: Your name, scores, handicap, and standings are visible to other members of leagues and tournaments you join. This is core to the Service's functionality.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Google Firebase (Firestore) and protected using industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use Firebase Authentication to secure user accounts.

While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., financial transaction records).

SMS consent records are retained for audit and compliance purposes even after opt-out.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information in your profile
• Delete your account and associated data
• Opt out of SMS, email, or push notifications at any time
• Export your data by contacting support

California Residents (CCPA): If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your personal information, opt out of the sale of your personal information (note: we do not sell personal information), and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Wisconsin Residents: This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin. You may exercise your rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data by contacting us directly.

Children's Privacy

Fist Bump Scores is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use our Service or provide any personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 14 days in advance by posting a notice in the app, sending an in-app notification, or emailing you at the address on file. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Rock County, Wisconsin.

Mobile Application Data

When you use our mobile application (available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store), we may additionally collect:

• Device identifiers: A unique device ID used to associate your device with your account for push notifications and in-app purchase verification.
• Push notification tokens: Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens used to deliver notifications about league updates, tournament invitations, and weekly recaps.
• Camera data: Photos taken using the scorecard scanning feature are processed by Google Gemini AI to extract scores. Photos are uploaded to Firebase Cloud Storage and are associated with your account.
• In-app purchase data: Transaction records from Apple App Store or Google Play Store are processed by RevenueCat to manage your Pro subscription. We store your subscription status, plan type, and transaction identifiers — not your payment card details.
• Platform information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for crash reporting and compatibility.

You can manage push notification permissions in your device's Settings app at any time. Camera access is only used when you initiate scorecard scanning.
